Hello and welcome to Mountain Sojourns , an independent mountain walking company, based in Newcastle, Co. Down, Northern Ireland, “where the Mountains of Mourne sweep down to the sea” as immortalized by the poet Percy French. It is run by Fiona Mullan an International Mountain Leader.

Mountain Sojourns as the name suggests (a short stay / break in the mountains), offers walking holidays, treks and breaks in the mountains. We operate in the Mountains of Mourne, the mountains of UK & Ireland and the great mountain ranges of the world. The sojourns vary in length from 1 day to multi-day trips, we use a variety of accommodation from mountain huts to camping to hotels depending on the nature of the trip.

In the great mountain ranges of the world, such as The Alps, The Tatras and Corsica we offer treks, GR routes and snow shoeing, check out what’s on offer or let us design your itinerary.

As a small independent company, we like to meet the needs of the clients but we do have some fixed programmes. Some of the itineraries outlined throughout the site can be arranged for other dates, for small groups etc., and we can arrange bespoke trips to other destinations contact us with your ideas for a quote.

Fiona’s 25 years experience in Outdoor Education leaves her well placed to also offer mountain skills courses, the Expedition section of The Duke of Edinburgh Award/The President’s Award and Nordic Walking, for individuals, groups and clubs. www.nordicwalking.co.uk
