Guided Walking
Where?
Mountain Sojourns organises guided walking through- out the year in the Mourne Mountains and surrounding area, other mountain areas in Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales and the European Alps.
Who for?
A Guided Walk can be planned for your group of friends, for a celebration, a Charity for fund raising or a Company for a team building event.
In the Mournes there are “open walks” were anyone can come along to, picking a route that suits their experience and fitness. There are open walks for all abilities through-out the year and if there is not one to suit you let me know!

Open Guided Walks
The “Open Guided Walks” take place both day and night. The night walks are geared towards an appreciation of the night sky and seeing the mountains in a different light, whilst the daylight walks are informative re local history, geology, flora and fauna etc.
Nocturnal Rambles, Star Treks and Moon Chasing are all open walks that Mountain Sojourns offers through –out the dark winter months around the date of the full moon.
Grading Walks
Grading walks is always difficult, as there are so many factors which can affect a grade, e.g. weather, under-foot conditions, personal fitness etc... The names of the walks try to roughly reflect the effort, fitness and experience required to complete the walk comfortably. Nocturnal Rambles being the easiest, then Star Treks –moderate, and Moon Chasing being the most difficult. All NIGHT walks are about 4 hours duration whilst day walks are about 4-6 hours.
If you are in any doubt re the difficulty of the walk and your ability please contact me to discuss.
